* A SCARCE SOUTH AFRICAN UNIT PATTERN 1907 SWORD BAYONET, dated July 1915, with 17in. single-edged steel blade fullered on each side, riccasso marked with 'Broad Arrow', bend test 'X', and inspection mark, with crown / 1907 / 7 '15 over, steel cross-guard and hilt, wooden grips, pommel marked '4 BT . 2 BGD / S . S . B. / 476' for the South African Special Service Battalion, together with its black leather scabbard with steel fittings, some pitting to the throat, traces of khaki paint indicating western Desert use, 22 1/2in. overall
